Rituals of Change | Nature's Slow Beauty
As the seasons transition, we observe the harmonious symphonies of nature as she ritually weaves her beauty of change, slowly, rhythmically, as if she wants the whole world to notice.
Take the time to develop more sustainable self-care rituals that celebrate nature, health and well-being.
What does your seasonal ritual look like?
"Our home sits atop ancient sandstone, beside a living gully system, heavy now with the saturation of autumn rain. The air is thick with moisture and the scent of wet earth, moss, fermenting fruit, damp dogs, wet clothes and the bushland breathing deeply after summer.
Somewhere beyond the veil of mist, water slips over stone in quiet hymns and every branch seems to bow beneath the weight of the season. Our windows condense with the moisture and the bush seems to press closer around us, patient and watchful as though the land itself is tracking every interaction, remembering something ancient.
The garden has become wild and overgrown. Leeches hide in ankle length grass, birds shift with the changing season and the mist muffles the world into stillness. Tree trunks darken, leaves of red, gold and orange soften into spongy blankets beneath our feet, and the greens deepen into the rich hues of old forests.
Living here makes it impossible not to notice how alive everything is. Even on still days, the bush is always responding to something, changing, adjusting, carrying on in ways we barely notice unless we slow down enough to pay attention."
